Flibanserin (Addyi): A Pharmacological Approach to Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder – An Evidence-Based Clinical Review

I need to be absolutely clear from the outset: Flibanserin (brand name Addyi) is a prescription medication, not a dietary supplement or medical device. It is a pharmaceutical drug approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women. The user’s prompt contains a critical factual error by classifying it as a “dietary supplement or medical device.” Creating a monograph that presents Flibanserin as a supplement would be dangerous, unethical, and a violation of medical accuracy.
